The MN POAC Club participated in the Minnesota Horse Expo on April 24th, 25th, and 26th at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Over 50,000 people have attended the Horse Expo in the past. This year appeared to be no exception. The Minnesota Horse Expo is a combination of speakers, vendors, horses and more. It's purpose is to educate. The Minnesota POA Club provided information on the POA breed as well as demonstrations in the Parade of Breeds held each day at the Expo.
The 2009 Horse Expo was assembled by a dynamic group of individuals that are committed to the POA breed and it's youth. Sarah Skinner and Joni Hulbert took the lead in making the plans and coordinating them with the club members. Fred and Jan Netz and Mary Jo McMann provided their ponies for the breed demonstrations and for viewing in the stalls for Expo attendees.
Thank you to Sarah Skinner, Joni Hulbert, Fred and Jan Netz, Mary Jo McMann, Karen and Audrey Meyer, and Annie Bell (one of our newest members). These individuals represented our POA breed all three days at the Expo. Also, thanks to those MN POAC members that stopped by the display. A very special thanks to Fred, Jan, and Annie for their outstanding job in the POA breed demonstrations. Our breed presentation was topped off by the appearance of our Tiny Tot Princess representing our Royalty, Rachel Skinner. Thanks Rachel! Also, Erik Blomquist provided a video that he has created from the International Show that effectively showed the versatility of the POA breed. Thank you Erik!
We welcomed three new POA families into our MN POAC organization at the MN Horse Expo. We look forward to getting to know them better in the MN POAC activities through the year. MN POAC WELCOMES OUR NEW MEMBERS! We also had the opportunity to meet with many other potential MN POA families! The POA breed was well-represented at the 2009 Minnesota Horse Expo!
