2012 MN POAC SHOW RULES
Only registered POAs may show at POA Breed Shows.
Stalling:
A check for the full amount of stalls requested must accompany the stall reservation form postmarked 1 week prior to show. Exceptions may apply. Stall fees will be charged if a stall has been reserved and not cancelled by 6:00 PM on the Monday before the show. Stalling forms will be posted on the MN POAC website for each show. Stalls will be reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
Showing out of the trailer is allowed at West Salem, WI and Windom, MN. It is not allowed at Cannon Falls, MN and Winona, MN. A fee of $5.00 per Pony per day will be charged. Showing out of your trailer is NOT allowed at Cannon Falls, MN and Winona, MN.
Shavings will be available to purchase at each show. Shavings at West Salem, Winona, Cannon Falls and Windom must to be pre-ordered prior to the show. They will be available until 10:00 pm on the Friday prior to the show unless previous arrangements have been made with show chair.
Registration:
A copy of the registration papers, a copy of the negative Coggin’s Test, a MN POAC signed release form and $5.00 per number must be attached to the completed master registration form before a number will be issued. This form can be obtained on the MN POAC website. MN POAC members may re-use their numbers from year to year and will not be charged the $5.00 fee. If this is the case, please make note of this on the registration form.
NOTE: If the pony/rider information is received the week before the show in which you need the number, the number fee will be $5.00 and will be sent to you beforehand if time permits or given to you at the show. However, if a number has to be issued at a show, the cost will be $10/number issued.
Numbers issued in Minnesota, Wisconsin or Iowa may be used at MN POAC shows.
All ponies that are ages 5 and under and those ages 6 and over who do not have Permanent Height Card (PHC) must be measured. Ponies without PHC can be measured at the following designated measuring times:
Fridays 7:00-9:00 PM
Saturdays & Sundays 6:30-7:00 AM

General Show Rules:
All MN POAC shows will start at 7:30 AM sharp. The arena will be open on Friday evening and prior to the start of the show for warm-up.
National rules will apply at all MN POAC shows unless superseded by the above rules. Any point that comes up not specifically covered in these rules will be ruled by the Board of Directors (BOD). The BOD decision is final.
The MN POAC Show committee reserves the right to combine or split classes as size warrants. The Show Committee also has the right to run classes simultaneously at the discretion of the Show Committee in like classes.
The MN POAC Show committee reserves the right to cancel classes that are scheduled to be held in the outdoor ring if there is bad weather.
Any person acting or inciting or permitting any other to act in a manner contrary to the Rules of the POAC, or in a manner deemed unsportsmanlike, improper, unethical, dishonest, or intemperate, or prejudicial to the best interests of the POAC, shall be reported to the POAC and subject to disciplinary procedures.
All patterns will be posted once received from the judges.
Novice Classes are for a Pony/Rider combination may not have won three firsts in that classification.
6 & under classes count for MN POAC points only, except for Lead-line Horsemanship and Lead-line Costume. No rider may enter the same class in 6 & under and 8 & under.
Approved safety helmets are required in all timed and jumping events.
Shows with high point awards will post the criteria used for the high point award calculations on the MN POAC website and at the show.
All tack changes will be declared to the gate person prior to the class or the gate will be closed.
The grounds and MN POAC are not responsible for any injuries or theft.
The camping fees are a per unit fee.
Year End Awards:
An exhibitor and owner must be a member of this club to be eligible for year -end awards sponsored by this club. A resident of another state may be eligible for year-end awards sponsored by the MN POAC, provided they are MN POAC members. Dues will be received by a local Show Chairperson if the exhibitor is not already a member of the MN POAC. MN POAC dues must be renewed by March 31, 2012. New memberships will be accepted at anytime throughout the year. Points will be accumulated only at shows following payment of membership dues.
A pony or member must show under nine judges at MN POAC pointed shows during the 2012 (including MN POAC sponsored and MN POAC pointed shows) to be eligible for year-end awards, high point awards, participation awards, or graduating senior awards.
Show Results:
Show results will be posted on the MN POAC website within 30 days after completion of each show. Year-to-date point tallies will be posted on the MN POAC website throughout the year.
